Intuitive Birthcare Continued

When it came to birthing at home I had to trust my intuition. I had no idea how I would find a midwife, (An African-American one at that, because that’s what I wanted. And that’s what I got) but I knew what I wanted.  I had to trust my decision and that everything would come into fruition.  This kind of trust and intuitive guidance comes from within.  It is that intuitive presence that we all have access to and is quite necessary for women to tune into when they are pregnant and giving birth. (Really all the time, but especially when pregnant and in labor)


Giving birth is a sacred experience. It’s a time for mother’s to tune into their intuitive voice and connect to their baby on a deeper level.  It’s also a time for the mother to tune into her body and what baby needs so that she can be nourished and strong for birth.


I’m a mother of five. I’ve had two hospital births (I had an epidural for my first and my second hospital birth was unmedicated) and after that three homebirths.  Once I had a homebirth I knew that would be the only option moving forward. With every birth my intuition was heightened and my ability to trust myself grew. I conquered my internal fears about birth by trusting and allowing my intuition to guide me.

Much of what I do and the choices I make come from an intuitive place.  They also come from my personal experiences, midwifery studies, and the knowledge, wisdom, and care others have shared with me.
